Freebie Friday - An Alien For Christmas

We listen to some pretty non-traditional Christmas songs in our house this time of year.  The Star Wars Christmas Album (yes it does exist), Banjo music, Charlie Brown, Dogs Barking Jingle Bells, the Nutcracker and a hodge podge that my husband downloaded years ago when Napster was big.  One of the "hodge podge" Christmas CDs we listen to has a song called, "I Want An Alien For Christmas" it is by Fountains of Wayne.  It is a funny song, very catchy and Booga LOVES it, last year he would dance and scream "I WANT ALIEN!"

I am not quite in the holiday spirit yet, I am sure after this weekend I will be, we are decorating this weekend.  I did have my first Peppermint Hershey's Kiss which did help move me towards that Christmas Spirit.

Naughty or Nice - Monday Release

I have been asking my 3 year old if he has been naughty or nice this week and we get mixed answers from him.  One day he says "BAD!" the next day he says, "I good!"  The cuteness factor is strong with him (think of it as the force) so he tends to get away with more things.  Now that Thanksgiving is over, Santa is definitely watching for Naughty and Nice Children, which inspired me to create this paper pack.

Freebie Friday - Nutcracker

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving, ours was pretty low key my husband had to work (the news never sleeps).  There was pie to be eaten so all was well with the world.

The Nutcracker is a holiday classic, I personally have never seen the Nutcracker, where as my husband and daughter both have.  I have heard the soundtrack several times (every Christmas since my husband and I have been together) and am always amazed by how beautiful it is.  I know I will eventually get to see it but until then I will enjoy the music.

The Nutcracker Digi I created was inspired from one of my grandmother's Nutcrackers.  I personally always thought they were some of the creepiest things at my grandma's house and that is saying something because she has an extensive doll collection (over 10,000 dolls).  The older I got the cooler I thought the Nutcracker was, so much so, I told my grandma I really wanted one of them when I was home this summer.

I do plan on making an ornament of him because he is really cool.  If you haven't seen the ornament section of the Digi Shoppe, check it out they are really cute ornaments created out of resin going towards some great causes.

Don't forget our monthly Newsletter comes out December 1st, sign up and be the first to receive Digi Shoppe news as well as a new unreleased digi every month!

Introducing Ornaments

Every year I try to create new ornaments for my Etsy Shop.  This year I decided no only to sell them on my Etsy Shop but also sell them on the Digi Shoppe because most are inspired by digis I created.  I also like to pick a specific charity to associate the ornaments with, it is the holiday season and giving back to those who are less fortunate is very important to me.

The charities I have picked are charities I have supported or volunteered at in some way shape or form in my youth.  Each ornament was casted in resin and hand painted.

I hope to have monsters and penguins finished soon.  I also hope everyone has a wonderful holiday and remember to stop and be thankful for the little things in life (like my children playing together and not fighting).

Freebie Friday - Turkey Time

One of my favorite memories from my childhood (teenage years) is of Thanksgiving.  Every year my mom did the turkey for our huge family get together at my grandma's house.  My aunt really wanted to do the get together at her house instead of my grandma's house because she had more room.  Everyone agreed my mom gave the turkey to my aunt (cleaned prepped and ready to go into the oven) with directions Thanksgiving morning, because we were making pies and needed our oven.  My aunt does not cook or bake that is why we did everything at my parents house, I love her to death but I am pretty sure she can burn water.  We made the fixings at our house (potatoes, stuffing, etc) and was bringing them over when they were finished.  Around 5pm we head over to my aunt's house for dinner, we walk in and don't smell turkey.  I mentioned to my dad I don't smell turkey that turkey has been cooking for 4 hours there should be a turkey smell.

We got into the kitchen and I hear my mom, "You didn't turn the oven on?!?!"
"The note didn't say turn the oven on," replied my aunt.  The note said "350 for 3 hours" or some crazy thing like that.  She was right it did not say Turn Oven ON to 350 degrees - lol.
"I thought you would know to turn the oven on to cook the turkey," my mom replied.
"I thought it was weird but I didn't want to cause you any stress," my aunt said.

Needless to say we ate all the fixings and 3 hours later we ate turkey.  Remember if you are bringing something to serve at someone's house who does NOT cook everything needs to be written out in black and white.

In honor of our non-cooked feast here is a Freebie for everyone.

Monday Release - Candy Canes

I have been working on Christmas papers!  I really wanted to get quite a few different designs before Christmas comes.  My first batch of Christmas Paper this year is inspired by Candy Canes.

I have also been working on Dollar Stamps:

I hope everyone has a great week and we will see you on Friday for a New Freebie.  I also updated the Freebie Section of the blog so ALL the Freebies are in one place.  I will someday get around to relabeling them but for now I have so many ideas I want to create.

Freebie Friday!

I hope everyone has had a wonderful week and now that it is officially November I am starting on Christmas!  I am quite late to the party, I know but I have a strict policy no Christmas before Halloween.  This digi is inspired by my childhood, every year my dad would brave the 4 feet of snow to put up our old bulb Christmas Lights.  The lights would get really hot and melt the snow all around them, when the snow fell they would sizzle, the fact my childhood home never burnt to the ground is a miracle.  I see lights like this and I am instantly transformed back to my childhood, bundled up in my snowsuit telling my dad that lightbulb doesn't work after he just hung them.

Mustache Paper

Happy Movember!  I personally think mustaches are funny and always have.  Every year one of my best friends grows a mustache for charity, so I think mustaches and I immediately think of him.  I decided to combine mustaches with chevron, stripes and dots to create fun papers.  This 12 paper set is fun and I personally can not wait to create some funny Movember cards and scrapbook pages with it!

Check out the newly released papers today!

Freebie Friday - Thankful Word Art

It is November  (WHAT!?!?!?)  If you are like me you are trying to figure out where the past 10 months have gone.  October flew like always and I am preparing for my daughter's huge Birthday Party Saturday.  I created this word art for the Thanksgiving Digital Paper Pack that was released in the Newsletter, I enjoyed it so much I wanted to share it with everyone.  November the start of the holiday season and copious amounts of turkey, pumpkin pie, spending time with friends and family screaming at the football game on TV (if you think that last bit I am making up, you have never heard me watch a football game before - lol).

I hope everyone takes time to reflect on what they are thankful for this holiday season.  Right now I will be thankful after my daughter's 7th birthday party on Saturday.  I hope everyone has a great weekend!  Don't forget Monday a new (very fun) release!
